Syed Imad-ud-Din Asad [LL.M. (Harvard)], Director, Center for Law and Policy (CLP), assisted Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) in reviewing the proposed accountability law. The project was first proposed by Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal [LL.M. (Harvard)], President, LHCBA, during a meeting held at CLP on January 1, 2010.
On January 15, 2010, Mr. Asad was invited to the High Court Bar to participate in an exclusive discussion on the above-mentioned proposed legislation. The participants included Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal, Justice (r) Malik Saeed Hasan, Shahid Hamid (Ex-Governor, Punjab), Barrister Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Abid Hasan Minto (Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of Pakistan), and other prominent legal minds. Afterwards, Justice (r) Iqbal formally requested CLP to assist the Bar in a detailed analysis of the Bill.
Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad, Rector, University of Management and Technology (UMT), took special interest in the project and highly appreciated CLP’s growing impact. |
